The pioneering South Carolina Canal and Rail Road Company, Southern's earliest predecessor line and one of the first railroads in the United States, was chartered on December 19, 1827. The Southern Railway was renamed Norfolk Southern Railway as the Norfolk and Western Railway became a subsidiary to its system on June 1, 1982.

This is an illuminated drum head-like light box of the Southern Railway logo. This is a PLA (Polylactic Acid) printed representation of the logo in 3 colors (Green, Yellow and Black) with a drum-like back containing a wall mounting hole. The lightbox includes an IR remote to turn the light box on/off and to change the color intensity from a warm 2700K to a daylight bright 6500K.

The logo is back lit with 110V LED Strip lights to illuminate the entire logo. The unit measures 9.278" diameter by 1.575" height.
